Salma Hindy is a NYC-based comedian, actor, and writer. She stars as the lead voice in Ramy Youssef’s new A24/Amazon adult animated series, #1 Happy Family USA, recently nominated for a Gotham TV Award for Breakthrough Comedy Series. She has opened for Chelsea Handler on two tours.
Salma is the creator and host of the rapidly growing podcast The Secret Sex Lives of Muslim Women, and she produces and headlines the monthly NYC comedy show Not My Father’s Daughter around daddy issues.
Salma is passed at The Stand and New York Comedy Club – two of the most prestigious comedy institutions in the city. Her debut comedy album, Born on 9/11, has been playing on SiriusXM since 2022 and received strong critical praise. She is also a Canadian Screen Award winner for her writing on CBC’s This Hour Has 22 Minutes. Her TEDx Talk, “Why People Pleasing is Hurting You,” has resonated with audiences internationally and explores the emotional origin of her comedy career.
